Sweet Sare Bear

Have I mentioned that
Sarah Caroline Morris is so lovely and sweet?
She has a low mellow voice, and a calm chill energy about her.
Her face is so round and her nose turns up and her eyes are just a bit chinese-ish.
All of these features combined make the cutest face! She doesn't really look like me or Nate. I am quite in love with my Sarah.
She is named after Nate's mom, Caroline Smith Morris and Nate's mom's mom, Sarah Brown Smith. What wonderful ladies to be named after, lucky girl.

Yesterday I took Emmaline on a special mommy daughter date. We had lunch at Cuttler's and then rode our bikes on the legacy trail. It was so pretty. We were loving it until I had a minor catastrophe. I needed to GO. Fortunately Em's piano teacher lives by the trail. Unfortunately she wasn't home, her husband was. I got over my embarrassment and he was nice enough to let me use their facilities.
I brought my camera but forgot to take a picture of us biking on the trail. Instead I'm posting a picture of Emma when she was about 5 or 6. This is the age my brain seems to have frozen her at. It is hard for me to believe that she is not this little girl anymore. She is 10 and 1/2! Emmaline is making me realize that my kids childhood is going by so fast and I better be enjoying it while it lasts. This morning she was getting ready for church by herself, the rest of us were in bed. I could hear her singing that Dixie Chicks song Ready to Run. Her voice sounded so pretty, I didn't know she could sing like that. She is NOT this little girl anymore.

I have a terrible head cold today. I'm even missing church because I feel so yuck. I hate missing church. I miss the spiritual and emotional boost it gives me when I can't go. Although, it is pretty awesome being home ALONE. The last time I was home alone was at least 6 months ago, and before that was when I was pregnant with the twins and when your pregnant your never really alone. You have someone kicking your bladder or ribs or something. Yesterday I brought in the kids water table toy from the patio and put it in our wheelchair accessible shower. This shower rarely gets used and it ginormous. Perfect for the twins to play. We'll see how long I can have it in the house before the twins (Gwenyth) figures out how to turn the shower on.

Summer fun at the Hyrum house with my side of the family

We all love to Jet Ski

Luke loves playing with his "big boy cousins" My sister's boys Zack and Ben are in this photo.

Sarah and Gwen loved taking their naps on the beach this summer.

I think that is Gwenyth walking on a lovely trail down from the house.

Gwenyth the relentless!

I need to write a little about Gwenyth. These pictures explain her personality pretty well. The bowl of cereal she is eating....she poured herself. She is 2. She got herself a bowl, climbed up on the counter where the cereal was and poured herself some, got a spoon out of the drawer, some how climbed down from the counter with the bowl of cereal without spilling. Walked down stairs and ate infront of the TV (this is against the rules at our house). Thank goodness she did not get into the fridge to pour milk on it. She has carried a heavy pitcher of juice upstairs bringing a cup of course so I could pour her a glass. She is a hands on do it yourselfer kind of baby. In this picture she is also wearing her naked proof outfit. The twins had to wear this ridiculous combination of jammies and dresses to keep them from stripping and taking off their poopy diapers. I am very happy to say they have grown out of this terrible phase. Now if she could just learn the concept of "wait a minute" then I'd be set!

Genny "I wun watch Wiggles" she says in a sweet voice

me "Mommy is so hungry, just a minute"

Gwenny yelling in a panicked voice "Mommy, I wun watch Wiggles! I wun watch Wiggles! Wiggles mommy! Wiggles mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! I wun watch Wiggles! Please mommy! Please mommy!

me (I'm super hungry and really want to eat it while its hot. I also don't want her to think this is how she gets what she wants. I also know she has no concept of wait) "Gwenny! Ok! Say 'please mommy' in a soft voice."

Gwenny "Please mommy" (in the cutest voice you've ever heard)

I just realized I didn't take enough pictures on Easter. Hmmmmm, darn. My kids looked so cute sunday morning but we have 9am church and I needed to get there early so I thought I'd take a picture of all of them later. By the time we got home from church I was so mad and eshausted from trying to sit through the meeting with them that the thought of taking pictures of them was not anywhere near my conciousness. They were lucky I didn't lock them out of the house. We did have a fun egg hunt at Grammy and Papa's house though.
